I'm a stingy reviewer but have to give this place credit. They make a great pizza. Which seems to be rare for this area. At some places when you have a lot of younger folks running the counter they can be rude and inattentive. That is not the case here they are always friendly and personable and I appreciate that.

Everyone who has grown up in the area knows the reason you go to Double Decker is for the awesome inside-outs. The salads, pizza and steaks are fine but not the reason my family and I go to double decker. Fast and always good.

Best ISOPS in the world and quick service. Never got anything else here and never will. Far better than Pappous.

Eh - deluxe double decker was good but not great. The sauce was disappointing and kinda tastes like off the shelf generic. I expected more.

The inside-out pizza is terrific here. You can get it either deep fried or baked. I like baked. We buy lots and keep them in the freezer for snacks and "emergency" meals. The regular pizza is excellent as well -- they have a wide range of toppings.

LOVE their inside-out pizzas! Their gyros are also very tasty as well since the restaurant is owned by a greek family. They usually deliver very fast too if you live in the Ridley Area.

Inside Out.....as good as it gets! Whenever I ride through Ridley Park, I have to stop and get an Inside Out! Yummy!

my family's been a fan since this place opened. i've been out in the west coast for a bit now and pizza from a place like double decker could really do it big out in cali. they have these stromboli/calzone type pizza things that are nothing fancy, yet everything u want from pizza. the cheese blend is just superb. mebe a greek secret?

I went here for lunch on a friends' recommendation and it lived up to his hype. I went with the inside-out pizza that everyone talks about. The one thing that I didn't like was that on the menu they list "inside-outs, fried or baked" then there are 62 different toppings listed under it. I enjoy that there are so many options and 62 may be an exaggeration as I didn't actually count. But, it would be easier if they had about 6 predetermined combinations and then a "pick your own" option. Don't know why I struggled with this life changing decision, but I did. I know what I like on my pizzas. So why was this so tough? Who knows. Anyways, I went with the fried buffalo chicken inside out. It was the nicest day of the year so far and I was pressed for time so I ate it in my car (like a fat*ss) with the windows down and the sunroof open. And yes I'm not ashamed to say that I used the rear floor mat as a tray on my lap. Veteran move. It was a glorious situation.....Beautiful day outside and beautiful inside-out inside my car in hand (just confused myself there). First bite of the crescent shaped contraption was a dangerous one since the piping hot magma cheese and hot sauce steam shot out like a geyser. Nearly burned my nose off. Took a few minutes to vent and cool off but after that I was pretty impressed. Great blue cheese and hot sauce and nice crispy/light shell. The shell reminded me of a funnel cake when I bit down. Next time I'll have to pick my own toppings and get it stuffed since the buff chick was a little light.

All of the food at double decker is real good. I have gotten sandwiches , pizza, and of course inside outs. I was there this week around lunch time to pick up some pizzas to bring back to work. It was real busy that day but the service was quick , and the pizzas were great. My only complaint is that while waiting I was just watching all the workers and one of the workers was waiting on customers and handling cash and credit cards and then she went right back to preparing food. I have been taking notice of this happening at other places also. Double decker management should set and enforce a policy so the employees do not do that. I think it's dirty and disgusting . I wash my hands at home before I prepare food, so should they

Great Pizza! Fast. Nice people, but if you eat in, you will have the scent a grill. Ha.

Everything is good here. Inside outs are awesome and there is nothing like it around or anywhere else! When people come from out of town and want to eat something different, I take them here to eat and inside out and they never just eat one. I also had a friend bring 5 back to NY with them. If you ever want one and are not local they can ship you some as well!!!!

The inside out pizzas are absolutely one of the best foods in the world. I come here every time I'm in Philadelphia. You will be hooked!

I've had their sandwiches, they're good but stay AWAY from the pizza. Some of the worst I've ever had. Dough was some weird stuff and the sauce was BORING. I might go for sandwiches, but that's it. Please learn how to make pizza.

My friends and I have probably spent a couple of thousand dollars here in the last three years. Sometimes we'll order delivery from them two or three times a day. It's shameful really. Their inside-outs are just a staple of my diet now (again, shameful). You can customize these things to your hearts content. Their website allows you to manipulate just about every aspect of the order. Hell, they even give out rewards on the site now. We're well on our way to getting a free T-Shirt haha. I can't compliment them enough on the ridiculous custom orders we've given them in the past and how they humor us anyways. My favorite inside out: Baked, Extra Grilled Chicken, Extra Sauce, Extra Feta, Extra Bacon. It comes out to be 7 or 8 dollars, but it's massive and is an like an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The atmosphere at the actual restaurant is simple and the staff is always good to us. The only reason they don't get 5 stars from me is that outside of their inside outs... there's really not much to be desired and sometimes the consistency of their inside outs can vary greatly. That said, if you're in Delco: you must have an inside out pizza. There is no food that is a better representation of the entire county.

Double Decker has been a staple in the Ridley Community for many years. Their food is good and consistent. Their small pizza, double decker fries, new flat bread pizzas, salads, wings, cheesesteaks, mots sticks and of course their famous inside outs are just a few things that keep us loyal. They also have a pretty great rewards program when you order online. What I love most about them is what and how they give back to our community. I wouldn't give our puzza takeout business to anyone else. Thank you Double Decker for your commitment to our little town, it does not go unnoticed.

I have been getting lunch here for over 10 years. And I have yet to order anything but gyros. For not having a shawarma (we're in Delaware County, so let's not get too picky), theirs is really good. When I need a cheap treat meal, this is it.

Arrived at 1 to go to the Ridley Farmers market only to find out it doesn't open for three more hours. Tatullos lunch specials didn't appeal to me so I headed to try the famous inside out pizza. (They don't offer slices here in Ridley) It was cheap - only 5 bucks for a plain. They asked if I wanted it baked or deep fried. I asked how do most people get it and fried was the answer so that's what I got. Came out quickly. Looked like a big hot pocket. Tasted good but there wasn't much cheese or sauce inside. Reminded me of the Parvoti which is the other deep fried pizza food I've tried. Still, don't see myself going that way again when I want pizza. The location was clean. The staff was great.

  • Paul L.

The inside out pizza was good. Basically it was a small Stromboli if you get the baked version. The fried version looked interesting if you like to shart your pants. The sweet potato fries were ok but didn't have a lot of flavor. I would opt for the old bay fries instead. The soda is free refill fountain soda and it is NOT watered down. I would recommend this place for the inside out. I will try a regular pizza next time

  • P E.

I stopped in here for take out about 530 last night. The family wanted inside outs and the gyros. The gyros are passable and I would say that the inside outs are an acquired taste. At least two people in my family have acquired it. Clearly thus place is popular because it was standing from only - two deep.

Not impressed. When I lived in Folcroft the standards where much higher at the Glenolden store. Ridley park is horrible. Ordered an inside out (fried) and french fries. The bag to fries was half full and the inside out was baked and literally had one piece of cheese and one slice of pepperoni. This is the second try at the Ridley park and the last. Lucky i gave them a star at all. The delivery guy was very nice the only plus from this location.

    (1)
  • Erik S.

If you live in Ridley Park I bet you order from double Decker at least once a week. Their inside-outs are fried heaven. We've been ordering from here for over 10 years!

    (5)
  • Aaron H.

Eat here all the time because it's 2 minutes from my apartment. It's a good pizza joint that gives you your money's worth. I only get the Italian Stromboli so that's what I'll review... The small one is the size of a dinner plate, I have no idea why they call it a small. It's a mess of really thinly sliced meat inside a bread pocket. Ham, pepperoni, salami, mozzarella and tomato sauce stew together into the cholesterol and trans fat ridden bite of heaven. One complaint is that it's a little wet. The bread contains all the water that the meat expels during cooking, my guess is the ham is the culprit, maybe use a dry cured ham instead of wet packed cold cuts...either way its a great way to stuff your face for $10

I grew up on Double Decker inside outs, and no matter where I've lived, I always seem to stop in at least once a year. It's my Mecca, I guess. To be honest I've never really explored the menu beyond the inside outs and fries, and as I've gotten older I find myself trading the greasy fried IO's for the more respectable baked version, but there is something about them you can't put into words. Be sure you'll hate yourself after eating one (or two), but I for one will probably still be coming back here when I'm 80 years old (assuming I haven't given myself a heart attack by then).

Great greek style pizza, everyone loves their inside outs (fried or baked), gyros, wings, cheesesteaks. Friday night go to for picking up pizza for family. Something for everyone and never get anything bad. Can eat in also. Staff is super friendly.

So apparently the ISOP (inside out pizza) is all the rage, so I decided to check it out. The boyfriend ordered the buffalo chicken ISOP and I built a white pizza one with grilled chicken, bacon, and spinach. We both opted for the baked ISOP over the fried. Once the ISOPs came out, I quickly realized it's just a calzone with a fancy name. Whatever, it still looked delicious! Once I bit in, I was convinced - calzone, ISOP, whatever - it was really good. I tried a bit of the buffalo chicken one, and it was good but super messy and awkward. Wayyy too much sauce. The one I built with the chicken, spinach and bacon was absolutely delicious! I would definitely go this route again. My only minor complaint is that the chicken wasn't grilled at all - it was chicken tenders cut up. (Not like the grilled chicken was going to make my ISOP super healthy or anything.) In short, go here, get the ISOP. It's not mind-blowing but it's definitely a solid meal-on-the-go. Note: I checked in on Four Square and the most hilarious, completely accurate, popular tip popped up...."Mmmm! delicious sauce and cheese wrapped in a vagina shaped pocket." Like I said, completely accurate.

Visiting the area and tried the 3 meat pizza. The aroma of the pizza in my car smelled very good on the way back to hotel. Pizza was very good. I feel like their pizza is unique and something about their pizza tastes different from your typical pizza joint. Pretty busy when I visited on a Wednesday evening. Strong 4 stars.

Just had the crispy BBQ chicken wrap and it's awesome! Tomatoe Basil for the wrap is the way to go. Perfect if you're in a rush but want something delicious.

Growing up, DD was (and still is) my favorite pizza shop. I understand they're famous for their inside outs pizza, but don't stop yourself from tasting their other menu options. Their normal pizza is the best around and my Dad loves their sandwiches; I am a personal fan of the mozzarella fries with ranch. Everything is sooo delicious, I wish they would open a shop in the city so I didn't have to drive so far to get my craving fulfilled!!! All in all, the best around Delco anddd the owners are a very nice family. You simply can't beat it.

Can't go wrong with the inside out pizza. I've been eating here once a week for the past 2 years, and I intend to keep on keepin on. In all that time, I've sadly yet to try anything else on their menu.... but the inside outs are *that* worth it. Perfect lunch stop-in. As a note, depending on your method of attack, a napkin bib may be advised. I don't know how many times i've tried to just eat one of these like it was a hoagie and squirted cheese sauce all over myself.

We driving back to DC from Philadelphia after the Army-Navy game and had the good luck to happen upon this wonderful establishment. We were all frozen stiff and starving and everyone in the entire restaurant was so nice - none of the midshipmen had ever had inside out pizza before - so hot and delicious. I thought the buffalo chicken with hot sauce on the side was fantastic - we'll definitely be back next year!

    (5)
  • Kamilah B.

I get it, it's different...so go ahead and check them out. Service was great, but slow. I guess this type of thing takes time. LOL Fam thought the inside outs were good, but we aren't really itching to go back. So, I guess you just gotta give it a try...once

What happened to Double Decker?? The inside-outs from my younger years are no longer here. I've given DD three chances to redeem themselves from a really, really awful inside-out, and they have not redeemed themselves. This used to be my favorite place when I was in middle school and high school, and they have definitely changed. I work in a local small business, so I know that prices have to go up, but it definitely made me sad to pay what I paid for these insideouts. A spinach insideout used to be my favorite thing in the world, and the last couple have tasted awful. The baked one that I just got with a hole in the center was the worst. I had to use a knife and fork for my DD insideout? Really? So sad. Maybe one day I will venture back in, but for now, three bad insideouts later, they are only getting 2 stars. I miss the DD that I remember.

This place really is a one trick pony when it comes down to it. The Inside Out pizzas... awesome, especially if they are fried. I grew up eating them like just about everyone else in this area of Delco. There doesn't seem to be a reason to order anything else here.

    (3)
  • Nicole V.

Came here with a friend who grew up eating here. Only tried the inside out but it was hot and delicious. Make sure to cut the very end off to let it vent before biting. If you love pickles as much as I do, try putting pickles inside. I had the fried plain inside out and pickles with plain pizza may sound gross but really is amazing!

This spot is known for its famous inside outs. You can get them baked or fried, and stuffed with just about anything you could ever think of. They are cheap and always my go to when I'm not sure where I'd like to order from before a movie marathon, televised sporting event, or even any time you have that pizza craving.. Even though they are famous for their inside outs I have tried almost everything on their menu. They have amazing cheese steaks. Get a wiz wit and I'm sure you'd agree with me. Double decker fries are possibly the best house fries in Delco and I've tried tons..They are friendly people and they definitely know how to do business. The only drawback is that they are extremely busy and sometimes your order can take a little longer than the normal pizza place but in my opinion double decker is worth the wait for sure.

I am L.A. based and go out of my way to stop here every time I am in town, I LOVE their inside-out pizzas, fast service with a nice a friendly atmosphere too!!

    (5)
  • James M.

The inside out thing was like a dry, bland, calzone with water pumped into it. it was soggy. The salad was gross with tons of onions and olives with rock-like seeds in them; I almost cracked a tooth. The Double-decker fries were soggy and didn't have enough toppings.

    (1)
  • Krissy H.

Hands down best inside outs in the world. Get em while they're cheap! Which is always! Fill them with whatever your heart desires. Request baked or fried. Even order them online now!! They arrive quick and they always hit the spot. The best thing about inside outs is you can order them as a group but unlike ordering a pizza you don't get completely screwed when every asshole who didn't chip in decides they now want a piece. I wouldn't order much of anything else from this place, they do what they do well, and that's inside outs. I would however of course get a delco favorite Double Decker Fries! Ranch, Bacon, etc. you know the drill. Look online for the list of fillings (toppings) to get.

  • Courtney J.

I've only ever had food to go from here. The inside out pizzas everyone is talking about are good, but really not as fantastic as everyone is going on about. While the pizza isn't the best I've ever had, it is good pizza. I've only tried the chicken cheese steak one. The people who work here are friendly. The first time we ordered from here, they accidentally entered my order in as a stromboli when I'd ordered a pizza. They fixed the problem, and gave me the stromboli at no extra charge with the pizza. I thought that was rather nice of them. I will probably order from here again. While the food isn't spectacular, it's pretty good, and it's conveniently located nearby.

  • Kavi W.

Ordered a buffalo chicken stromboli but gave us dried out chicken piece of crap. I was starving but couldn't eat more than one bite of it. Also, once we got the receipt it didn't match with the menu prices but didn't want to argue over two dollars. Unethical crappy place.

  • Nicole D.

Being from out of state and from the West side of the country... a friend has brought us here since he only lived down the street from this place. He said we had to try out the inside out pizza, which is just a pizza inside out & I thought it was pretty neat. It's almost like one of those calzone, but better :) & so I find it very interesting where you would have to flatten out the pizza so that it would break apart. I forgot, but I thought it was funny because I failed. Well anyway, I thought it was pretty good & I actually bought one, & brought back home to California to my boyfriend. He thought it was good. So when I go back, I shall get another one :)

This place is the Bomb!! -Moved to this area about a year ago and I go to DD at least once a week. The ISOP's are amazing. I don't know what i like better , the fried or baked so i usually get both... cuz theyre AHhhhMAZING!!! Also the Chicken Steak Pizza---I'm a big fan..... the Gyro's are the best I've had, and they're Greek so that makes sense... Friendly Staff, I can't say enough about this place..

  • German S.

So, I rented a movie tonight since I'm feeling under the weather, then I thought how about pizza..not just pizza an inside out pizza. So, I called double Decker and order two inside outs..one chicken steak baked and the second one fried.. The baked one did the job..

  • Tom G.

I live around the corner from DD. I've been going here since I was a kid and, now that I've moved back to the area (briefly), I find the food to be pretty average - not as good as I remember it being. The inside out pizzas, in all of their greasy glory, are still the mainstays here. The regular pizza, done in the "Greek" style with its tangy cheese and crispy crust, is decent if overpriced. Their large, 14", runs around $9.50 for a plain and $11.50 with a topping. It's pretty expensive compared to others in the area. Their other food is pretty standard for a Delco pizza shop. "Ok" fries, cheesesteak, mozz sticks. Pretty "meh" in all. Tower Pizza is far superior.

    (3)
  • Jazzie S.

I heard the pizza here is great, but I had a philly cheese steak. It was decent but I wouldn't go there for one again. Next time I will try the pizza. The fries were great. And the staff was super nice to me.

  • Liza T.

I realized I made the mistake of not ordering the Inside Out Pizza (which Zagat reviewed as Philly's Best of 2006), the second I sat down and saw the waitress juggle 8 plates of empenada looking dishes to the next tables. They were deep fried, golden and quaint little calzone looking things that apparently were all the rage, and I missed out. haha- well, this time atleast. Unfortunately, I ordered the gyro sandwich and was served a mediocre gyro with cookie cutter lamb strips and a cucumber sauce that was decent. I mean, don't get me wrong, nothing was horrible, but the second I caught a glimpse of the inside-out pizzas, I regretted my order. What's also funny is that on the walls, I saw tons of Greek images and paraphernalia every where, so I thought, how could I go wrong with a Greek dish? I guess here in Ridley Park -- when in Greece, go Italian. I know I will. =)

    (3)
  • Tim T.

Located in the Ridley Park Business district. There's a wine store across the street, a 7-11 and and Chinese takeout next door. So as you'd expect it gets BUSY on weekends. Very good Pizza but the unique item is the"Inside Out" available with numerous fillings. You can ask for the baked or fried-both ways are tasty. I've had it with pepperoni, meatballs, Italian sausage and more. You can order for the whole crew and each kid can geta different filling. They're about 3 bucks a piece.

    (4)
  • N L.

I've been eating inside outs for over 30 years. As kids we used to check the couch cushions for spare change to order them. I get plain "well-done" which means extra crispy. Watch that first bite - either the steam will get your nose or lava cheese will attach to your chin. Food wounds aside, there is nothing like them. One star off since the fries are gross - soggy with potato skin to give it a slight dirty flavor. I'm not even that picky with fries.
